"homegrown" technology- SMD reflow soldering
Hello again recently I made a big breakthrough in "homegrown" technology.
Have you ever tried to solder SMD parts manually? This can be done for 1206 but it does not look too good. It really looks like a hobby circuit. Then one day I had the idea to try domestic baking oven! It is really not critical for resistors and capacitors. Please note my oven has infrared grill. I do not use any timer or temperature control. It can be observed with the door a little open, how the solde paste melts, and the parts "reflow"! And it's really good for parts like diodes which have their pads underneath the package. Here a PCB photo (see attachment): I hope you can improve too for your PCBs. I tried 0805 SMD LEDs and they also "survived" baking oven. |
